Open Mike Featuring Rockwood Taylor
October Open Mike night is featuring Rockwood Taylor! This duo, hailing from Newburyport, MA, consists of Charlie Rockwood Farr on guitar and Lynne Taylor on keyboards and bass. The two have been performing together for over 10 years. They launched Rockwood Taylor in 2018 and have played venues throughout the East Coast enticing audiences with fine vocals and original compositions. Their styles cover a broad brush of folk-country-rock ranging from Steve Goodman to Steve Earle, from Patti Smith to Patty Loveless. So far, the duo has issued three well-produced CDs. Take this opportunity to hear Rockwood Taylor at our small, informal venue!
LOMA is a monthly event. For a slot, performers should email Rich Eilbert at [email protected] (before noon of the open-mike day), or (space permitting) sign up at the event. Names of those who are signed up by 7:00 will be drawn at random. We have a sound system with mikes and instrumental pickups suitable for individuals or small groups playing acoustic style. Brad Meyer ably handles the sound. You are encouraged to sign up well in advance. We expect everyone will have a chance to perform, but in case of overflow, the first 20 performers to sign up will be given priority.
