Lincoln’s Famous 19th Century Author: Jane Goodwin Austin

Jane Goodwin Austin (1831-1894) was an American writer who wrote twenty-four books and numerous short stories. A friend of Louisa May Alcott, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Nathaniel Hawthorne, Austin resided with her husband Loring in Lincoln during the early years of their marriage. This digital exhibit explores the life and work of this Lincoln author and is based on the research of Ron Chester, Library Trustee.
