Metrowest Bogleheads: Personal Cybersecurity
Personal Cybersecurity will be the topic of discussion presented by Rick Moberg. The presentation will be divided into two parts. The first part will focus on data security. Data security involves protecting computing devices and private data against unauthorized access or attack. The second part will focus on data privacy. Data privacy is about a person’s rights to understand and control how their personal data is being collected, disseminated, and used. There will be a discussion of the kinds of threats we face and ways we can protect ourselves in each part.
Rick is former CPA and CFO. He is not an IT expert nor does he purport to be one. He simply researched the problem and developed a list of practical ways we can protect ourselves. He will encourage attendees who have other, and perhaps differing, perspectives to share them with the group. We hope this will be a fun and informative session that benefits everyone.
