Geoff Goodhue & Friends is the feature (goodhuesband.com). Geoff was born in Boxford, MA and grew up in a highly musical family. He took up violin at age 5 and developed into an accomplished player on many stringed instruments (notably mandolin and guitar) as well as drums. He performs in varied genres including bluegrass, traditional folk, country, jazz and rock ala Grateful Dead. Geoff sings and is a driving force behind Beg, Steal or Borrow, a band that has performed at Grey Fox and other major bluegrass festivals. He also serves as drummer for Vermont Vaudeville’s house band and his own family outfit, The Goodhues Band. He’s appeared on Mountain Stage in WV, the Bread and Puppet Theater in VT and recently performed with the legendary Jim Kweskin in NH. Over his eclectic musical career, Geoff has been a major contributor on at least 6 CDs. Take this opportunity to hear Geoff Goodhue & Friends at our small, informal venue!
LOMA is a monthly event. For a slot, performers should email Rich Eilbert at [email protected] (before noon of the open-mike day), or (space permitting) sign up at the event. Names of those who are signed up by 7:00 will be drawn at random. We have a sound system with mikes and instrumental pickups suitable for individuals or small groups playing acoustic-style. Kenny Selcer ably handles the sound. You are encouraged to sign up well in advance. We expect everyone will have a chance to perform, but in case of overflow, the first 20 performers to sign up will be given priority.
