As of September 2nd 2014 you can apply for a temporary online card to the Minuteman Library Network!
For more information & to apply just click here!
Getting a library card is easy! You do not need to be a Lincoln resident to receive a library card, but some library services are restricted to Lincoln residents only. We encourage Lincoln residents who may have a card from another Minuteman Library to obtain a Lincoln Library card, you will then have access to all our databases and services. You will need to present Proof of Identification (either a valid driver's license, Massachusetts State ID card, Passport, or for high school and college students a student ID. card). If you do not have any of the above you will need to produce proof of your current address (a utility bill is an example).
In case you lose your card we do not charge a replacement fee.
Please stop by the front circulation desk to obtain your card.
Juvenile Library Card Policy
Children birth through grade 8 may receive a card when accompanied by a parent or caregiver. To meet Minuteman Library Network identification requirements, the accompanying parent must present suitable identification or staff may verify that the parent has a valid patron record in the MLN database. For children accompanied by caregivers, staff verification of the parent's patron record or presentation of a document/piece of mail with the family name and address is sufficient.
It is easy to obtain a new library card at the library! Simply stop by the front circulation desk and present identification with your name & address.
Please see "Permanent Cards" above for acceptable forms of identification. We will provide you a new card on the spot! We do not charge a replacement fee for lost cards.
Out-of-State & Temporary Residents
Out-of State residents that work in Massachusetts, are students in Massachusetts, own property in Massachusetts or are living temporarily in Massachusetts may be issued a MLN card. Out-of state residents must provide identification showing their home address. Property owners must provide ID such as a tax bill or utility bill for their Massachusetts property. Students must verify their status with school identification and provide their permanent home address.
Temporary residents must show proof of their current address. They must also show proof of a permanent home address. These cards expire within 6 months of issue.
New to the Library -- Self-checkout!
The Library has a new self-checkout option available to patrons. If you have your physical library card or have downloaded your card to your smart phone you can use the self-checkout terminal.
In order to use your smart phone we recommend using the Key Ring App, which can be found free of charge at the Apple App Store or at Google Play.

Lincoln Library materials may be returned to any Minuteman Library Network Member (MLN) . The Library also accepts returns of other MLN members loans.
We offer a book drop to return items after hours.

Minuteman Library Network patrons may place holds on materials through the online catalog. This can be done either at the library or at home!
You will need to know your library card number or your user name as well as a PIN number. You can obtain a PIN number either at the circulation desk or online at the Minuteman Library Network .
The Library receives a delivery of requested materials Monday-Friday. We generally tell patrons to allow 3-7 days for a reserve to come from another MLN Library. If you need an item faster it may be best to contact the owning library and they can put it aside for you for pickup there.
Interlibrary loans (from outside MLN) take a bit longer, these books can come from anywhere in the world! These books can only be returned to the Lincoln Library. They will have a notice on them to alert you to this. ILL items may have a different loan period since the loaning library determines how long they are willing to allow it to circulate.
